End of Life and GDPR

If you're reading the community site these days, you certainly noticed that not a single piece of significant content was created since 2015, and not much since 2013.

Whatever this may mean for PHP-GTK itself is another issue, but for the site itself, it means it ceased to be relevant about 5 years ago, and it's time to move on for the site members. Since the site contains non-anonymous user, it will fall under the new EU GDPR regulations entering into force on 2018-05-25, and there is no point for me to spend time on evolving the site towards compliance when no one is actually using it.

So here is the EOL announcement: the site will be shutting down on 2018-05-24 and its data will taken offline.

A static version of the articles may be published again at some point here or elsewhere, but I wouldn't hold my breath on it. So if you have even some interest in the site content, be sure to copy/paste the pages of interest before it goes dark on 2018-05-24. Or contact me if you want a copy of the files and content, or check my blog for newer content.

Thanks all for participating, it's been a pleasure while it lasted.

Install PHP-GTK 2 on MS-Windows™ - PiGii

First of all, be prepared to accept the terms of the agreement for the following licenses:

I created a new PHP-GTK group in the Open Source University Meetup from SUN. The link is:

screenshot for <application name />PHP-Editor is a program developed in Php-Gtk using Glade and GtkBuilder.

This is a very structured program that allows up to 9 tab (which is the point of having more?), the usual options of a text editor but with the code and highlight the most important thing is the tooltip on the traditional functions of PHP with their explanation.

The package contains the generator to the database of words that must be written in a particular way and is controllable from the command line in order to compress.

Is RocketDMS really built with PHP-GTK?

Question from one of the PHP-GTK members:

"I looked at your submission for RocketDMS on, and from the screenshots on your site, the app does not look like php-gtk at all. Is it really done in PHP-GTK ?"

Absolutely 100%! It uses gtk 2.0 (2.10) and uses libwimp giving it a native windows look and feel. The screenshots are from Windows XP.

Ubuntu repository with PHP-GTK

Hi all. I have set up a small Ubuntu repository (i386) with PHP-GTK (and some other packages), if anyone is interested. I configured PHP-GTK like this:
 ./configure --with-extra --with-html --with-libsexy --with-spell \
  --enable-php-gtk --enable-scintilla --enable-gtkhtml --with-mozembed
And I installed the following dependencies when I compiled it:
aptitude install -y php5-cli cvs php5-dev libglade2-dev \
  php-pear build-essential libgtkhtml3.8-dev libsexy-dev libxul-dev libgtkextra-x11-2.0-1
